“Zero Growth, Socialist Modernity, and the Anti-Environmental Turn in Eastern Europe”

A new article in the Journal of Modern European History:

“Zero Growth, Socialist Modernity, and the Anti-Environmental Turn in Eastern Europe”

The article examines how socialist Eastern Europe confronted the tension between a vision of modernity based on economic growth and emerging debates about the environmental limits to growth - and why anti-environmental positions ultimately prevailed.

The article was co-authored by Elena Kochetkova, Doubravka Olšáková, Vedran Duančić, Gleb Kazakov, Julia Lajus, Stephen Milder, Vedran Muić, and Olga Trufanova.
